At Fusion Healthcare, we now offer hay fever injections with the aim of reducing or completely alleviating severe symptoms for the entire season.
Our in-house GP will carry out a health assessment to establish whether an injection is the best route for you before proceeding. Hay fever injections are no longer privately available on the NHS; so, at Fusion Radiology, we take pride in the fact that we can offer a high-quality service to suit your needs.
The injection consists of a steroid capable of supressing the body’s immune response when it overreacts, without the need for additional medications. It is an intramuscular injection administered in the ventrogluteal site, with one Injection generally being enough to target symptoms for the entire season.
Our hay fever injection is capable of easing symptoms for an extended period of time, however, there are minimal associated side effects. Potential side effects include:
- Swelling
- Abdominal pain
- Insomnia
- Itching
- Raised blood pressure/ blood sugar
Additionally, our clinicians will need to identify any conditions you may have which could prevent you having the injection.
